About Our School
A feeder school of Santhome Higher Secondary School called Montfort Preparatory School was inaugurated by His Grace Late Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore Rt. Rev. Dr. Louis Mathias on 26th June, 1965.
The aim of the school is to guide the children from an early age and give them a sound foundation in general education and to develop in them moral and social habits as envisaged by St. Montfort. In June 2005, Montfort Preparatory School was raised as a Matriculation School and recognized by the Government of TamilNadu and named “Montfort Academy Matriculation School”.
In June 2013 Montfort Academy Matriculation School was upgraded as Montfort Academy Matriculation Higher Secondary School.
Our priorities in education are not only academic excellence, but also formation of youth, in discipline, hard-work, moral and religious values. These priorities are meant to prepare the youth for life by promoting intellectual excellence, uprightness of character, emotional maturity, scientific attitude, spirit of healthy competition, co-operation, sportsmanship through co- curricular activities, moral sensitivity to the needs and rights of others – especially to the less privileged ones, religious tolerance and national integration.

Our Principal’s Message
The aim of good school should be to provide a holistic education for its pupils. The school aims at inculcating integrity, trust, religious harmony, compassion and tolerance to see that courage and industry have the due reward and also to promote a spirit of enquiry in the young minds. The pursuit of excellence and courage at our school rests on the positive belief that every individual has the ability to produce work of exemplary standards.
We believe that student’s own family by their intelligence, interest and co-operation can make the young person’s education important and meaningful. They can help to lead a simple life inspite of the tangle of stimuli with which the modern world confronts us.
We believe that we are training students to take the places among other human beings with confidence in our nation’s great tradition and the courage to adopt them to the challenges of the changing world. The school has thus to enlist the co-operaion of the home, strengthen its influences and make itself a radiant replica of the home.
